Morris's minimalist sculptures tended to create a presence parallel to that of the observer.

Morris sought to prolong and intensify the viwer's temporal experience of sculpture by frustrating the visualization of form through a disruption of its three-dimensional gestalts.

One has to move around the piece in time to fully understand its nuances.(ex-three Ls)
With such accumulations of memory and knowledge made inoperative, the viewer must start from the level of brute perception in order to grasp the reality of what he/she is seeeing.

In stead of persenting logic or mathematics, his work is about the primacy of experience. His work articulates meaning or understanding by filtering passage and vision through a constantly shiting set of temporal circumstance.
